Protection of Reproductive Rights Policy
- To this effect, and within the laws and regulations of countries where it operates, SIPEF will:
- Ensure that couples and individuals seeking medical services related to reproductive and sexual health are accommodated ;
- Ensure that couples or individuals can freely decide when and how many children they want, and guarantee the right to information on contraception.
- Programs and services supporting this policy will preferably be based on government-approved Family Planning and Mother-and-Child health care services.
- SIPEF recognises the main components of reproductive health as being:
- Counselling on sexuality, pregnancy, contraception, infertility, and the related diseases
- Education on sex and gender
- Prevention and curing of infections on reproduction tracts, including of HIV/AIDS and such other maternity issues
- Pre-natal care, delivery by qualified health professionals, and post-natal care
- Medical care for infants and children
- Services safeguarding the rights of women and encouraging their empowerment
- Encouraging and supporting men to take their share of responsibility with regards to sexual and reproductive behaviour, family planning, pregnancy, mother-and-child healthcare, HIV/AIDS and domestic violence.
- This Policy applies to all Companies under the Management of SIPEF.
