Community impact
Plantations J. Eglin SA is a major employer in the regions where it is established. Around 1 400 people are employed, national people as well as foreign workers from the neighboring countries. At these production sites, employees receive free accommodation, electricity and drinking water from wells. Employees and their families benefit from 80% medical coverage. From 2018 to 2020, the company invested in the construction of 180 additional housing units for its staff, bringing the total number of housed workers to 719.
In addition, the Company invests on the one hand in supporting the education of communities by building or equipping primary and nursery schools and the construction of housing for the teaching staff of these schools. On the other hand, it invests in security by providing material support for the security forces of the surrounding localities.
