Management

Craig has been in the palm oil industry for more than 16 years, starting in plantation in PNG in 2006. Following time in PNG, he spent 12 years in Solomon Islands, five of which as General Manager of the sole palm oil producer in the country.  Craig returned to PNG in January 2022 to take up the post of General Manager of HOPL. Craig is from country Western Australia and has a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Curtin University.

Darren has more than 25 years Senior HR Management experience in both the Private and Public sectors. After 21 years in the Australian Defence Force, Darren embarked on a career in the private sector holding senior HR Management roles in both PNG and Australia in the motor, construction and contract management industries. In 2015 he joined HOPL as the Head of Human Resources Department. Darren is a member of both the Australian and PNG Human Resource Institutes.

Godwin has been practising as a lawyer specialised as litigator and business commercial lawyer for 24 years. Admitted to practise at the Australian Victorian bar in 1999, he practices law primarily in Papua New Guinea. He has worked with various organisations including the superannuation industry, private law firms, non-governmental organisation and State business entity. He joined HOPL in 2016 as company lawyer and later appointed as Company Secretary in 2017. He holds a second university degree in business management and is an affiliate member to the PNG Institute of Directors.

Grahame has 22 years’ Transport experience, specialising in Heavy Road Transport and Refrigerated Road - Rail Transport. After 12 years with Queensland Railways in Brisbane and Cairns Rail Depots, he changed industries working in the piped gas sector managing Land transport, laydown yards and barging operations at a mid-management level. In late 2018 he joined HOPL as Transport Manager and in 2020 took over the role of HOD Smallholders.

Jeffry has more than 22 years of accounting experience of which the majority has been in the private sector, primarily manufacturing. Joining Hargy Oil Palms in 2009 as the Assistant Financial Controller Jeffry has held various positions since joining, in 2019 he was appointed as Head of Department, Finance. Jeffry is an Accountant by profession and holds PICPA and CPA PNG memberships.

Sophie has over 15 years’ experience with standards & certification management in the Food Manufacturing & oil palm industries. A certified Lead Auditor in Food Safety Management Systems, RSPO Principles & Criteria and ISO 14001, Sophie has successfully lead the Hargy Sustainability team through two certification cycles of both RSPO & ISO 14001 standards since joining in 2011.

Pieter has been working in the Agricultural industry for more than 29 years. After serving in the South African Defence Force, Pieter started his Agricultural career in the vineyard business as a Viticulturist producing Grapes for wine production reaching a senior management level before leaving the industry in 2013. Joining the palm industry in PNG the same year Pieter held vary management roles. In 2019 he joined HOPL as the Head of Department, Plantations.

Guna has over 18 years’ experience with Palm oil processing and operation in Malaysia and PNG. As certified Grade one Steam engineer and graduate Mechanical engineer, he has vast experience managing biogas & power plant operation and overseeing operation for solvent plant extraction oil from palm fibres. He joined HOPL in 2015 as Chief Engineer/HOD engineering department.
